BYOC--Build Your Own Classroom with GAFE
You’ve heard of DIY? How about BYOC? You have ideas for your classroom and you would like to implement them but the LMS is funky. You’d like your students to present and maintain their own answers, but nothing really works. What’s a teacher to do? Build Your Own Classroom! With Google Apps for Education you can DIY. Using Google Sites, Blogger, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms, you can build your own classroom where you can clearly see how your students are doing and provide regular feedback instantly. If any of this sounds appealing, stop by my session in Room 602!

Evolved ELA
Evolve your ELA curriculum and create a community of readers that inspire others through their enthusiasm for sharing books. Ditch those reading logs, dioramas, and comprehension quizzes that are commonplace methods of accountability in standard classrooms and have your students telling each other in the hallways that "Class was so Lit!". Reading is a social activity! Learn some classroom tested strategies that tap into your students interests, their need for social interaction, and that are just plain fun and get your students to be lovers of lit'.

In the hyper-scrolling, double-tapping world of Instagram, creating attractive visuals is a challenge. Come to this session, and wear your walking shoes! We'll be scouting the neighborhood and taking pictures to tell the story of our day. Afterward, we'll work on cropping, filters, and editing tools.
